The building is located at highest part of a densely planted hillside that faces the Marão mountains. The house shape, particularly its vertical development, is a consequence of the available space (limited by a large number of huge cork trees) and the plot scale. The building is developed around a courtyard, where the main entrance is located. The private areas of the house are located in a vertical volume. A stair organizes and provides access to the several areas including the library. The horizontal volume is for the “social” areas. The house is completed by another volume that limits the main courtyard.
