ABC Buildings
The project essentially meets the requirements of the initial competition plan.
A block with 14 floors (B), finishes the visual axis of Campo Alegre (both east and west) and redesigns a new square with the existing Hotel tower, a new centrality for Lordelo. A smaller scale building (C) adapts to the dimensions of the oldest buildings to the east, the Hotel's roof and the existing building on Rua de Serralves. To the south it has 4 floors, and to the east we propose only 3. A third building (A) completes the ensemble, finishing off the larger basses to the west and predicted to the east. We propose to reduce the scale on its tops, to better adapt to the dimensions of the existing blocks. (...)

DE Buildings
The project proposes an amendment to the initial tender plan. If, in the east plan, next to the hotel, the inclusion of a tower consolidates an urban center in Lordelo of an appropriate scale, while finishing off Rua do Campo Alegre, in this case it seems to us that the inclusion of a tower in the place foreseen in the plan does not has the same meaning, becoming objective and stray. In this way, we propose to reverse the set proposed in the plan.
In other words, we propose a long block perpendicular to the existing road (block E) and to the level curves, which approximates the scale of the existing blocks. Further to the north, we propose a tower (block D), which serves as a finish for the various sets of existing blocks, creating a new centrality, while already pointing to an increase in scale of the existing buildings to the north / east.
The tower has 15 floors, while the lowest building varies in height from 3 to 5 floors depending on the topography. Between both there is a passage, as well as in the difference of elevations roughly in the middle of the lowest building. (...)
